Susan joined Dr. Laidlaw & Associates in January 2018 as Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. Susan’s first career was as a High School Physical Education Teacher in Scotland after obtaining a Diploma of Education (Dip. Ed). Following a motor vehicle accident, Susan had to explore alternate career opportunities. Whilst raising her family, Susan embarked on various courses in administration, including Medical Reception & Terminology, and Office Administration, to add to her organizational skills.

 

Susan emigrated from Scotland to Canada in 2004 with her husband and three children. Throughout her entire career, Susan has worked within schools and clinical offices in an administrative capacity to support students, clients, and colleagues. Within each environment, there was a strong focus on person-centered care. 

 

Prior to her position with Dr. Laidlaw & Associates, Susan was the Intake Worker for another counseling agency for which she was the first point of contact. Within her current role, Susan supports in an organizational capacity with such tasks as completing Intake Registration and File Preparation & Management. Susan strongly believes in complimenting the compassionate and supportive healing that takes place at the Practice by being a warm and welcoming presence at Reception.
